HAROA ISKCON TEMPLE
The ISKCON Temple located in Haroa, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, is part of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness movement. ISKCON founded by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada in 1966, is dedicated to the teachings of Gaudiya Vaishnavism, emphasizing devotion to Lord Krishna. The movement has established numerous temples worldwide in West Bengal, to promote spiritual education and cultural heritage.
PIR GORACHAND MAZAR
Pir Gorachand's journey to Bengal was part of a broader movement of Islamic missionaries during the medieval period. He faced opposition from local rulers, including King Chandraketu of Hatiagarh. Despite being wounded in battle, he continued his mission until his death in 1374. His body was discovered by a Hindu cowherd named Kalu Ghosh, who, in an act of reverence, brought milk to the shrine during the annual Urs (death anniversary) .
BERACHAMPA CHANDRAKETUGARH
Chandraketugarh is an ancient archaeological site located near Berachampa in North 24 Parganas, Haroa, west bengal. Chandraketugarh is thought to correspond to the "Gangaridai" mentioned by ancient Greek and Roman writers, indicating its importance as a port city and trading hub. The site has been continuously inhabited through various historical periods, including the Maurya, Shunga, Kushana, Gupta, and Pala-Sena dynasties .
DHANYAKURIA RAJBARI
The Rajbari, constructed over 200 years ago, exemplifies a blend of European and Bengali architectural styles. The mansion is L-shaped and features 21 massive pillars, highlighting its regal personality. With a total of 60 rooms, the mansion includes a garden housing the Shyamsundar Jiu temple, established in 1821. The temple is also L-shaped and painted pink, reflecting the architectural harmony of the estate. The rajbari hosting various events and festivals.
KACHUA LOKNATH TEMPLE
The Kachua Loknath Temple, also known as Kachua Dham, is a revered Hindu temple located in the village of Kachua Swarupnagar, within the Basirhat II block of North 24 Parganas. This temple is dedicated to Baba Lokenath Brahmachari, an 18th-century Bengali saint renowned for his spiritual teachings and practices. Kachua is traditionally considered the birthplace of Baba Lokenath Brahmachari, making it a significant pilgrimage site for his followers.
TAKI INDO - BANGLADESH BORDER
The India-Bangladesh border at Taki, located in the Hasnabad region of North 24 Parganas, is a unique and serene stretch where the Ichamati River forms the natural boundary between the two countries. This picturesque locale offers a rare opportunity to experience cross-border harmony and natural beauty. The Ichamati River serves as the international boundary here, with boats from both India and Bangladesh navigating its waters.
TAKI KULESHWARI KALI MANDIR
The origins of the Kuleshwari Kali Mandir date back approximately 450 years. According to local legends, a sage performed a ritual under a banyan tree in Taki, placing a clay pot (ghat) as part of the ceremony. This pot was later found floating in the Ichamati River, prompting a local zamindar to retrieve it and establish the temple at its current location. The name "Kuleshwari" is derived from the deity's association with the riverbank, the temple has been a center of worship ever since.

Taki, situated on the banks of the Ichamati River in North 24 Parganas, is renowned for its rich fishing heritage. The river serves as a vital resource for local fisheries, supporting both subsistence and commercial fishing activities. In summary, Taki's local fisheries are integral to its cultural and economic fabric, offering a glimpse into the traditional fishing practices of Bengal. Additionally, Taki is known for its sweets, particularly Malpua and Patali Gur.
